Ravens Cancel Public Stadium Practice Due To Rain

BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Ravens have canceled a public practice at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, July 21. The cancellation came as the area was under a flash flood watch and had experienced several hours of rain that was not letting up.

Forecasters anticipated up to 4 inches of rainfall in Maryland by Sunday morning.

Originally, the practice at the stadium in Baltimore had been set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 21.

The Ravens announced Saturday afternoon that the practice was canceled due to rain, which was expected to continue through the evening.

News of the cancellation came as a blow to some who said on the Ravens Facebook page that they had traveled from out of state for the event, which was to include fireworks and autograph signings.

The practice was also highly anticipated since it was free and could accommodate as many people as wanted to attend.

Before the start of training camp, the Ravens opened up 15 practices to the public at the Under Armour Performance Center. Once the team opened up an online portal for reserving free tickets, the slots filled up within a matter of hours, with attendance limited to 2,000 per session per practice.

The team's first full workout was Thursday, July 19, in Owings Mills.

Preseason games for the Ravens will start on Aug. 2 when they face the Bears in Chicago. There are four games in the preseason, and the other away will be against the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 20. The two home games during preseason are Aug. 9 against the Rams and Aug. 30 against the Redskins. Get tickets.

The regular season for the Ravens starts Sunday, Sept. 9, at M&T Bank Stadium against the Buffalo Bills.
