Jimmy Smith Suspended After Injury For NFL Violation: Report
The Ravens cornerback who is sidelined with an injury is also being taken out for four games for another reason, sources say.

BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith sustained a season-ending injury during Sunday's game. At the same time, he is reportedly being suspended for violating NFL policy related to substances.
On Monday, an ESPN insider reported that Smith was slapped with a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy.
Smith was going to appeal the suspension, according to ESPN.

However, now that he has been sidelined with an injury, the sports network reports he plans to withdraw the motion.
As the Ravens took on the Detriot Lions Sunday afternoon in Baltimore, Smith tore his Achilles late in the second quarter. Smith would be out for the remainder of the season because of his injury, the Baltimore Ravens.com reported after the team's 44-20 win.

Three years ago around this time, former Raven Halodi Ngata was suspended for four games for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy as well.
