Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded US Home & Auto Insurance Group a 2026 Make More Happen™ Award for its partnership with the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) Greater Baltimore Chapter, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping older adults safely and successfully age in place. The award includes a $5,000 donation, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online community support.

The US Home & Auto Insurance Group and NAIPC Greater Baltimore’s story is featured on the official Make More Happen™ microsite at www.agentgiving.com/us-home-and-auto-insurance-group, where supporters can vote to help unlock the full $10,000 donation. If the story receives at least 750 combined votes and comments, the award will be doubled. The funding would allow NAIPC Greater Baltimore to expand programming beyond the 19 senior centers and four libraries it currently serves and fund broader outreach efforts to reach homebound older adults and caregivers, ensuring diverse communities receive critical information and resources.

The National Aging in Place Council champions aging in place by bringing professionals and communities together through collaboration, education, and advocacy. US Home & Auto Insurance Group began supporting NAIPC Greater Baltimore after agency principal Patrick Geoghan was introduced to the chapter by his wife, Mary Lynch, the chapter’s chair and a longtime advocate for accessible housing and aging-in-place solutions.

Geoghan recognized that many older adults and caregivers have questions about insurance coverage related to in-home care, home modifications, and protection from financial scams, areas where trusted education from an insurance expert can make a meaningful difference.

“NAIPC offers a trusted platform to educate and protect vulnerable populations, which aligns with US Home & Auto’s mission to safeguard individuals and families,” said Geoghan. “By partnering with NAIPC, we can teach practical insurance solutions that protect seniors’ independence and give families peace of mind.”

US Home & Auto Insurance Group supports NAIPC Greater Baltimore through ongoing volunteer engagement, education, and sponsorship. For the past two years, the agency has participated in the annual Power of Age Expo, one of the largest aging-focused events on the East Coast, staffing and supporting the NAIPC booth each October.

Throughout the year, team members volunteer at library-based education programs focused on senior scam prevention, brain health through the “Keeping Your Marbles” program, and functional medicine. The agency also sponsors refreshments, giveaways, and prizes, while Geoghan leads educational sessions on how insurance supports successful aging in place.

“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Lisa Fazio, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “US Home & Auto Insurance Group’s commitment to NAIPC Greater Baltimore highlights the powerful role education and advocacy play in helping seniors age safely and confidently.”

Throughout 2026, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen™ Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible by submitting applications that highlight their commitment to a specific cause.
