1 Dead, 2 Children Hurt In Edgewood Crash: Harford County Sheriff
One person died and two children were injured in a head-on crash in Harford County Sunday morning, officials said.
EDGEWOOD, MD — An Edgewood woman died in a crash on Trimble Road early Sunday morning, according to officials. Two children in the car with her were hospitalized, authorities said.
Linda Diamond, 59, had been driving a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe that was hit head-on by a truck around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.
The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported it responded to the crash, where one person was trapped in Diamond's vehicle and had to be rescued. The Abingdon Fire Company, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company assisted at the scene, according to Joppa-Magnolia.

Three children were in the vehicle with her, officials said. Two 11-year-olds were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, while a 3-year-old was not harmed, according to the sheriff's office.
The driver of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado that caused the crash — a 33-year-old Edgewood man — refused medical treatment, investigators reported.
Officials said he crossed from westbound Trimble Road over the center line and into Diamond's vehicle for reasons that remain under investigation.
"At this time, drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this crash," the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported Sunday.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information about it may call the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit at 443-409-3324.
