3 Die from Heroin Overdoses in One Day: Harford Sheriff

Harford County authorities said they responded to four heroin overdoses on Saturday. Find out how to get help.

BEL AIR, MD – Three people died Saturday in Harford County from heroin overdoses, authorities said.

An additional person survived a heroin overdose Saturday as well, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said there had been 10 fatal overdoses in Harford County so far this year as of May 9, meaning that there have been at least 13 who have died from heroin in the county as of May 16.

In 2015, there were 27 fatal overdoses, according to the sheriff's office.

in 2014, authorities reported there were 23 heroin-related fatal overdoses in Harford County.

"In only a 19-hour span, our task force investigators responded to three fatal overdoses and one nonfatal on Saturday," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "If you have a loved one that suffers with a heroin addiction, please take time to check on them...Three more lives have been lost to this dangerous drug."
