6 Hospitalized After Edgewood Townhouse Fire: Officials
Authorities said five victims jumped to escape burning home.

Six people, four of them children, were hospitalized following a townhouse fire in Edgewood Friday morning, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
Crews were dispatched at 2:48 a.m. for a residence on fire and arrived to find smoke showing from a townhouse in the 1800 block of Eloise Lane, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

There was “heavy fire” showing at the scene, and additional crews were called shortly after 3 a.m., the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association reported.
A woman was in the yard in front of the middle-of-the-group townhouse, the fire company reported.

She and four children jumped from windows on the third floor to escape, according to Andrew Doyle, spokesman for the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
The woman was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview and the four children were taken to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Trauma Center, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association reported.
One firefighter slipped on ice at the scene and was taken to a local hospital for an ankle injury, the report said.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the fire.
Due to the fire activity, drivers should watch for ice in the area, Harford County Office of Emergency Management reported. Officials also reminded citizens to clear the snow from fire hydrants in their neighborhoods.
