Arson Caused $20K In Damage At Edgewood Condo: Fire Marshal

EDGEWOOD, MD — A fire that broke out Saturday at an Edgewood condo was intentionally set, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

A neighbor discovered the blaze, which began in the living room of a single-story apartment at Sunrise Condominiums at 11:14 p.m., officials reported.

Investigators ruled the incident arson, as the fire began when combustible items were intentionally set ablaze.

More than a dozen firefighters responded and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, officials said.

Authorities estimated there was $15,000 in structural damage; additionally, $5,000 worth of items inside the residence were lost.
