Bel Air, Darlington Firefighters Knock Pig Barn Fire
Winds were howling as firefighters worked to extinguish flames from fully engulfed structure.
Nobody was injured in a shed fire in the 3000 block of Lochary Road Monday night, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
At 8:55 p.m., crews from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Darlington Volunteer Fire Company responded to the address, where a small barn was engulfed in flames, Gardiner said.
A neighbor reported the fire, which struck a 10-by-10-foot pig barn, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

It started when heat lamps ignited objects nearby and caused $2,500 in structural damage, the fire marshal reported.
Approximately 20 firefighters responded to the incident, according to the fire marsal.

By 9:30 p.m., Gardiner reported crews were getting ready to clear the scene.
Wind made the operation challenging for firefighters, according to Gardiner. Harford County was under a wind advisory until midnight, and at approximately 4:45 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service reported that 47 mph winds were recorded in Hickory.
