Bel Air Police Department Kept Watch for 'Protestors or Signs of Unrest'
Officials reported on results of Thursday's patrols at Bel Air High School, Harford Mall and downtown.

Police said that there were “no problems or observances” in Bel Air during Thursday afternoon’s demonstrations.
While a protest was rumored to begin at Bel Air High School at 5 p.m., that never happened.
Instead, approximately six people gathered in prayer in front of the Harford County Circuirt Courthouse along Main Street while five people with signs stood nearby displaying messages like “All Lives Matter.”

“Overall, those who assembled to exercise their right to free speech did so peacefully and without incident,” according to a statement the Bel Air Police Department issued Friday morning. “No problems or disturbances were observed.”

The Bel Air Police Department along with the Maryland State Police, Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Police, Havre de Grace Police and the Department of Emergency Services monitored the downtown area, Bel Air High School and Harford Mall for protesters or signs of unrest. A small peaceful group holding signs assembled in front of the Harford County Circuit Courthouse.
It is important that law enforcement and the community work together to provide a safe environment for our citizens. Overall, those who assembled to exercise their right to free speech did so peacefully and without incident.
No problems or disturbances were observed.
