Crashes Kill One, Injure Five In Harford County Sunday: Officials
Three crashes resulted in multiple injuries in Harford County, officials said. Two crashes involved motorcycles, and there was one fatality.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Five people were injured and one died Sunday in three separate crashes in Harford County, officials said. Two collisions occurred between 1 and 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. One happened midday.
Around noon, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported there was a crash on Interstate 95 near the exit for MD 543 resulting in lane closures.
Two motorcycle riders were taken in critical condition by Maryland State Police medevac for medical treatment, according to the Abingdon Fire Company, which responded to the crash along with the Aberdeen Fire Department.

By 12:40 p.m., officials said the highway had reopened after the motorcycle crash.
Two other crashes happened in the first few hours of the day, including one that also involved a motorcycle.
At 1:27 a.m., the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company found a motorcyclist in grave condition from a crash on the northbound Bel Air Bypass near the exit for Rocks Road, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
The motorcyclist had died, police reported Monday.

About 45 minutes later, there was another serious crash in Harford County, about 9 miles south, which injured three people.
Crews were called to the collision in the 2200 block of Philadelphia Road at 2:14 a.m., Chenworth said.
Two vehicles crashed, and two people were heavily trapped, according to the Abingdon Fire Company, which rescued them with the crews from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and Aberdeen Proving Ground.
It took about 20 minutes for crews to free the victims from the wreck, Chenworth said.
One was flown in critical condition by medevac, another was taken to a regional trauma center by Abingdon ambulance and a third person was taken to a regional trauma center by Joppa-Magnolia ambulance, according to officials.
