Fallen Bel Air Paramedic Receives Hero's Welcome in Harford County
The viewing for Erik Steciak will be from 1 to 5 p.m. at Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

Erik Steciak, the paramedic who died in the line of duty this month in Bel Air, will return to Harford County for one last time before he is laid to rest.

On Saturday morning, firefighters honored their 29-year-old brother along the route from Howard County to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, where a viewing was planned from 1 to 5 p.m.

Steciak had worked for the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company since 2011 and Joppa-Magnolia since 2014 as a paramedic.
He was a captain at the West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, where a viewing was held Friday night.

Ten vehicles from the Abingdon Fire Company stood by along MD Route 24 to greet the vehicle carrying Steciak’s body.
The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, where Steciak had been working since September 2014, flew the American flag from its ladder truck over I-95.
Bel Air police said that Hickory Avenue will be closed between Route 22 and Courtland Avenue from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The public may use the Hickory Avenue parking garage and is encouraged to carpool if attending the viewing. The lot across from Hickory Avenue will be reserved for fire apparatus.
