Family Displaced By Belcamp Blaze: Fire Marshal
The fire marshal ruled the blaze accidental.
BELCAMP, MD ā A house fire early Friday morning displaced a family in Belcamp, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
A neighbor discovered the fire before 1:30 a.m. at the home in the 4300 block of Marigold Lane, officials said.
About 20 firefighters led by Abingdon Fire Company responded and brought the blaze under control in 20 minutes, authorities reported.

When crews arrived, everyone was out of the home and fire was showing, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. She said three adults were displaced.
Investigators ruled the fire accidental, caused by discarded ashes from a charcoal grill. The fire marshal said the blaze began on the wooden deck.

A total of $100,000 in damage was estimated; there was $50,000 in structural damage, while an additional $50,000 in items inside the home were lost as well, the fire marshal said.
Officials reported the family was being assisted by the Red Cross due to being displaced.
