Former Patriot Selby Selected in NBA Draft
The former Kansas Jayhawk played one year in Bel Air.

UPDATE (11:34 p.m.)—Former Kansas University basketball player Josh Selby, who was a member of the 2006-2007 boys basketball team, was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 49th pick of the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Selby was regarded as a top prospect coming out of high school, but saw his stock plummet during his one year at Kansas, where he missed time due to suspension and injury. He averaged 7.9 points and 2.2 assists in 26 games for the Jayhawks.
In his year at John Carroll, Selby helped the Patriots finish with a 28-8 mark, setting a school record for wins that stood , and helping catalyze the resurgence of the under coach .

Selby left John Carroll in 2007 and spent two years at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD. He finished his high school career at Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore where he averaged 32 points and seven assists in the 2009-2010 season.
The 6-foot-2 20-year-old joins a Grizzlies squad that finished 46-36 in 2010-2011 and upset the San Antonio Spurs, No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. He will join another former Maryland prep star, Rudy Gay, who played at Archbishop Spalding.

Earlier this month, two class of 2011 Patriots were selected in the Major League Baseball draft. was selected in the 14th round and teammate in the 50th.
