Harford County Closings for Wednesday, Jan. 27

Schools closed, government open, visitation at detention center canceled and other modifications in Harford County on Wednesday.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD – Days after the weekend snowstorm, many schools and offices are operating on modified schedules while crews work to clear the more than 2 feet of snow that accumulated:

Harford County government is open on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Harford County Public Schools are closed for the rest of the week, through Friday, Jan. 29. Employees are on code blue on Thursday and Friday.

Harford Community College and Towson University of Northeastern Maryland are closed through Wednesday, Jan. 27. Call 443-412-2322 or visit HCC online for more info. The spring semester will start at HCC on Thursday, Jan. 28. Spring registration has been extended to Thursday, Feb. 4.

Harford County Chamber of Commerce is closed on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

The Harford County Detention Center canceled visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Visitation resumes this weekend.

Harford Day School is closed on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

John Carroll School is closed through Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Harford Transit LINK is to operate on a normal schedule Wednesday, Jan. 27, given proper and safe road conditions.

MARC will have reduced service on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Aberdeen Proving Ground is open on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Proceed with caution, as Harford County is removing snow piled against construction barriers near gates. The Hoadley Road gate on the Edgewood Area of APG is temporarily closed to remove ice and snow from the overhead cover. Traffic is being rerouted to the Wise Road gate. Once the area has been cleared, the Hoadley gate will reopen.

Federal offices are opening three hours late on Wednesday, Jan. 27, with an option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.

Maryland state government offices will have liberal leave starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, until the end of the day shift. Employees are encouraged to telework if eligible. Emergency essential personnel report as scheduled.
