Harford Snowfall Sets a Record: Emergency Services
More than 35 inches of snow broke the county's previous record snowfall, Harford County Department of Emergency Services reports.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD – The weekend snowfall in Harford County set a record, according to the Harford County Department of Emergency Services.
“The National Weather Service has identified this as a record snowfall in Harford County with 37 inches measured in Norrisville,” the department reported on Monday. “This breaks the previous record, which was 35.5 inches.”
The 37-inch measurement was taken behind the Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company and accepted by the National Weather Service, according to the report.

Officials say there are benefits to having set a record, beyond bragging rights.
“A record snowfall can potentially lead to federal reimbursements of some county expenditures in a declared state of emergency,” according to the Harford County Department of Emergency Services.

The state of emergency remains in place for Harford County Monday night, officials said.
