2-Alarm House Fire North Of Bel Air Under Investigation

Firefighters rescued a cat from a burning house in Harford County overnight, officials said.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A cat was rescued from a two-alarm house fire overnight north of Bel Air, officials said. The blaze drew firefighters to respond from three counties and two states — Harford, Baltimore and York, Pennsylvania.

Crews were dispatched to the 3700 block of Rush Road at 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

While the blaze was placed under control within 30 minutes, firefighters remained on-site until 3:30 a.m. clearing the scene, Gardiner said.

One cat was rescued, and three adults were displaced, according to Gardiner, who said nobody was injured.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
