Police Unity Tour 2017 To Roll Through Harford County
Local law enforcement will be traveling through Harford County en route to Washington, D.C., during National Police Week.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD ā Cyclists will be traveling in Harford County in droves this week to honor fallen law enforcement.
The Police Unity Tour takes cyclists from all parts of the country to Washington, D.C., where they will converge at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on Friday. Having hundreds of police bicycling on roads leading to the memorial raises awareness of those who have died in the line of duty.
Several members of law enforcement in Harford County are participating. They left Delaware Wednesday morning and were departing Chesapeake City Wednesday afternoon, according to the Aberdeen Police Department. Police anticipated arriving in Harford County by 5 p.m.

Among those participating is Jennifer Logsdon, the widow of Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon, who was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 10, 2016.
The unity tour coincides with National Police Week, which honors those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Want to see the police riding from Harford County to Washington, D.C.?
People can greet the Police Unity Tour cyclists at the Edgewood precinct on Thursday, May 11. Cyclists will stop at the precinct at 8:10 a.m. but the parking lot will close at 7:45 a.m. so the public must arrive early.
Traffic in the area around the Edgewood precinct may be impacted due to the ride.
There are 16 officers from Harford County participating in the ride from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Washington, D.C., according to ABC 2 News.

Harford County Memorial Ceremony
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is holding its inaugural Memorial Ceremony to honor members of the Harford County Sheriff's Office who gave their lives serving the citizens of Harford County.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, at the Southern Precinct, 1305 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood.
The public is invited to attend, and people are asked to arrive after 9:30 a.m.
