Rachel Morin Honor And Remembrance Walk Planned By Family Of Slain Mom

The Rachel Morin Honor and Remembrance Walk has been organized by family of the slain mom to be held in August along the Ma and Pa Trail.

Hosted by her family, the Rachel Morin Honor and Remembrance Walk will start at the William Street entrance of the Ma and Pa Trail near where Morin's body was found after she went missing in August 2023. There will be a family statement and prayer.

BEL AIR, MD — A memorial walk will be held Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. for slain mother of five Rachel Morin of Bel Air.

Hosted by her family, the Rachel Morin Honor and Remembrance Walk will start at the William Street entrance of the Ma and Pa Trail near where Morin's body was found after she went missing in August 2023. According to the family's event post on Facebook, there will be a family statement and prayer before the walk begins to the bridge. People can lay down flowers and share a memory of Morin at that time if they'd like.

"Together, as a family and a community, we can honor and remember her as the woman who was so full of life. Please join us as we pray and honor our beloved Rachel," the family said in the Facebook post.

Morin was reported missing after going for a run on the popular trail in August 2023. Her body was found not far from the trail. DNA found at the scene of a Los Angeles assault involving a mother and her young child was linked to the Maryland crime scene.

That led investigators to Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, who was was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 14 on unrelated charges. He has been charged with six criminal counts in Morin's death: first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree rape, second-degree rape, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
