Rachel Morin Reward Fund Increases As Investigators Continue Searching For Suspect
The Rachel Morin Reward Fund has increased again while officials continue their search for the suspect wanted in the mom's 2023 death.

BEL AIR, MD — A donation has increased the reward offered for tips leading to an arrest in the slaying of Bel Air mother of five Rachel Morin. Her body was found Aug. 5, 2023, along the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air and the suspect officials believe was responsible in her homicide has yet to be found.
On Monday, the Rice, Murtha, Psoras law firm representing Morin's family announced an increase in the reward fund to $35,000. The $5,000 boost stems from a donation from the Mile Higher Podcast hosted by husband and wife duo Josh Thomas and Kendall Rae. The podcast focuses on true crime.
"We are profoundly grateful to the Mile Higher Podcast for their generous contribution to the Rachel Morin Reward Fund. This increase in funds represents the solidarity of the community in their relentless pursuit of justice for Rachel Morin. It sends a clear message that we will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to find answers and bring the man responsible to justice. It also reflects how Rachel's loss resonates with other parents who cannot imagine their children being left motherless by a violent crime," said managing partner Randolph Rice.

The body of Morin, 37, was found six months ago after her boyfriend, Richard Tobin, reported her missing when she didn't return from her walk on the trail the night before. Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler previously said he believes the man who took Morin's life is a serial killer. According to investigators, the suspect is a Hispanic man in his early to mid-20s and estimated to be 5’9" and weighing around 160 pounds.

DNA evidence from the Morin crime scene matched DNA found at the scene of that March 2023 home invasion in Los Angeles. Doorbell camera video provided by the Los Angeles Police Department captured a brief clip of that man leaving the scene of the reported home invasion and assault in California.
Morin's mom Patty told The Baltimore Banner that her daughter's death doesn't seem real.
“It still feels very unreal. It still feels like it was yesterday,” said her mother, Patty Morin, as she cried at a conference table in her lawyer’s office Friday. “I don’t know if I can live with this pain the rest of the my life. It’s the most devastating thing a person can experience.”
Rice previously told Patch that everyone should be aware of their surroundings at all times. He told Patch the suspect in Rachel Morin's murder "side-stalks" his victims.
"Please be very aware of those around you. Have you seen that same guy in two different places? Don't consider it a coincidence. Take a pic with your phone, call the sheriff's office or email our attorney and we will forward the tip/picture from you. You must be diligent for your safety and that of your family. He could be the guy standing next to you," Rice told Patch.
