Route 924 Closed for Tanker Incident: Harford Officials

The Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association reports an 18-wheeler was involved.

Harford County officials asked drivers to avoid a stretch of MD Route 924 Monday evening due to a major crash.

An 18-wheeler tanker turned sideways on Route 924/Emmorton Road at Holly Wreath Drive, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. The incident, which involved the single vehicle, occurred at 4:36 p.m., transportation officials said.

At 9:45 p.m., the road was still closed in the area of Holly Wreath Drive, which is between Saint Marys Church Road and Singer Road.

There were no injuries reported, according to The Aegis.

Hazardous materials personnel and Maryland State Police were at the scene, in addition to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Abingdon Fire Company, the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association reported.

By Tuesday, the road had reopened.
