Sheriff Identifies Teen Killed in Edgewood Stabbing

The teen was one of three people stabbed at the home, Harford authorities said.

The 15-year-old girl killed in a triple stabbing over the weekend in Edgewood has been identified as Melay Hernandez, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Hernandez, another 15-year-old and a 39-year-old woman were found stabbed at their home in the 100 block of Reider Court at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Saturday , the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Melay Hernandez was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, the report said.

The second 15-year-old was treated for injuries and released Saturday night, while Maria Hernandez, 39, had surgery and was in stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center Sunday afternoon, the sheriff’s office reported.

The victims were a mother and her twin daughters, according to Fox 45.

Ivan Enrique Molina Bustamante, 21, was arrested Sunday morning in connection with the stabbings, officials said.

He has been charged with first-degree murder; second-degree murder; two counts of attempted first-degree murder; two counts of attempted second-degree murder; two counts of first-degree assault; two counts of second-degree assault; and use of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.

A preliminary hearing for Bustamante is set for Dec. 4 in Harford County District Court.
