Drivers may take the expressway between White Marsh and I-895 for a fee.

Tolls are now being collected along the new I-95 Express Toll Lanes.

The four total additional lanes along I-95 from I-895 to MD 43 opened Dec. 6 and were toll-free for the first week.

“The new lanes are part of a comprehensive I-95 Improvement Project focused on enhancing highway safety along this vital economic corridor,” according to a statement from the Maryland Transportation Authority.

Here’s where to get on the through lanes:

  • I-95 North: Drivers on I-95 north can get on the toll lanes near the I-895 merge or if they are on I-895 just before Moravia Road. Getting off the toll lanes, drivers may exit onto I-95 north near White Marsh or onto MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
  • I-95 South: Those headed south can get on the express toll lanes from MD 43 as well as on I-95 near White Marsh. To get off the expressway on I-95 south, the exit is onto I-95 near the I-895 split or onto I-895 near Moravia Road, the authority reported.

There is no access to I-695 from the express lanes.
