Tutoring Center Opening At Harford Mall

BEL AIR, MD — The new Harford Mall tenant has been revealed at the former home of the Bel Air Vaccaro's. A sign posted on the window shows that C2 Education is coming soon.

C2 Education specializes in tutoring, test preparation (for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE and AP exams) and college admissions consulting. Tutoring runs from elementary through high school.

The company has a presence in 15 states, where it operates nearly 200 centers.

It plans to open in Bel Air this summer, according to a statement from the Harford Mall.

The first C2 location was in Maryland, according to the company, which originated in 1997 out of a dorm room at Harvard University.

“We are thrilled to be joining the Bel Air community," Regional Vice President of C2 Education Stephanie Pasche said in a statement. "Local families will have a proven partner in helping their students go on to their dream colleges."

There are 14 Maryland C2 Education centers already — in Bethesda, Columbia, Ellicott City, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Maple Lawn, Olney, Perry Hall, Potomac, Rockville, Severna Park, Silver Spring, Timonium and Urbana.

Located between Pure Raw Juice and Five Guys at the Harford Mall, Vaccaro's closed on New Year's Eve, stating mall officials had signed a new lease for the space and the bakery could not afford to keep it running.

Another tenant that has been with Harford Mall for a long time will also be leaving. Sears is slated to close in mid February.
