Whiteford Blaze Caused $600K in Damage: Fire Marshal
Authorities say 100 firefighters were needed to help extinguish the fire.
A house fire in Whiteford Wednesday night caused $600,000 in damage, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Approximately 100 firefighters responded to the blaze in the 4400 block of Prospect Road, which started in the rear first floor, the fire marshal reported.
People in the home discovered the fire at 8:26 p.m., according to the report.

It took three hours to bring the blaze under control, with crews coming from Whiteford, Darlington, Norrisville, Bel Air, Jarrettsville and Fallston in Maryland and Fawn Grove, York County, Delta-Cardiff, Airville and Stewartstown in Pennsylvania, the fire marshal reported.

As a result of the incident, there was $400,000 in structural damage, with $200,000 worth of items inside the home lost as well, the report said.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation Thursday morning, according to the fire marshal.
Harford County Disaster Assistance was reportedly providing relief to the victims.
According to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, two people were displaced.
