Youths Charged in Weekend Brush Fire in Harford: Officials

Dry brush on Trimble Road was set ablaze by two teens, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reports.

Two teenagers were charged in connection with a brush fire that broke out Saturday night in Edgewood, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported.

At 9:14 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, a passerby reported a field fire in the 2000 block of Trimble Road, according to the fire marshal. The land is owned by Harford County government, the fire marshal reported.

Five firefighters from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department responded, bringing the blaze under control within five minutes, according to the report.

Officials said they determined that dry brush and vegetation had been set on fire by two 14-year-old boys.

The teens were charged with malicious burning and released to the custody of their parents pending further action by the Department of Juvenile Services, according to the report.
