10 Nursing Homes In Montgomery County Battle Coronavirus

Confirmed cases of the new coronavirus have been detected in 10 Montgomery County nursing homes.

BETHESDA, MD — At least 13 confirmed coronavirus cases have been detected across 10 nursing homes in Montgomery County.

The nursing homes include the following:

  • Althea Woodland in Silver Spring
    • Staff member tested positive
  • The Angels Garden in Rockville
    • Man in his 70s was infected by the virus, but he recently died
  • Brighton Gardens in North Bethesda
    • Staff member tested positive (previously reported on March 27)
  • Brooke Grove in Sandy Spring
    • Resident has virus
  • Cadia Healthcare in Wheaton
    • Resident has tested positive
  • Fairland Center in Silver Spring
    • Staff member has virus (previously reported on March 27)
  • Fox Chase Rehab and Nursing in Silver Spring
    • Staff member tested positive (previously reported on March 27)
  • Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville
    • Resident is infected with the virus
  • Maplewood Park Place in Bethesda
    • Resident has tested positive
  • Layhill Center in Silver Spring
    • Three residents and a staff member have the virus

These nursing homes say they have ramped up their infection control procedures. Efforts include: physically separating residents and banning group gatherings, activities, and new admissions.
