10 Nursing Homes In Montgomery County Battle Coronavirus
Confirmed cases of the new coronavirus have been detected in 10 Montgomery County nursing homes.
BETHESDA, MD — At least 13 confirmed coronavirus cases have been detected across 10 nursing homes in Montgomery County.
The nursing homes include the following:
- Althea Woodland in Silver Spring
- Staff member tested positive
- The Angels Garden in Rockville
- Man in his 70s was infected by the virus, but he recently died
- Brighton Gardens in North Bethesda
- Staff member tested positive (previously reported on March 27)
- Brooke Grove in Sandy Spring
- Resident has virus
- Cadia Healthcare in Wheaton
- Resident has tested positive
- Fairland Center in Silver Spring
- Staff member has virus (previously reported on March 27)
- Fox Chase Rehab and Nursing in Silver Spring
- Staff member tested positive (previously reported on March 27)
- Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville
- Resident is infected with the virus
- Maplewood Park Place in Bethesda
- Resident has tested positive
- Layhill Center in Silver Spring
- Three residents and a staff member have the virus
These nursing homes say they have ramped up their infection control procedures. Efforts include: physically separating residents and banning group gatherings, activities, and new admissions.
