2 Bethesda Restaurants Receive 2017 RAMMY Award Nominations

Vote for your favorite DC restaurant in The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington's RAMMY awards; 2 Bethesda spots are on the list.

BETHESDA, MD — Two Bethesda restaurants, and the team behind one of the nominees, are up for RAMMY awards, a regional food and drink competition for the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington.

Cava Grill of Bethesda received a nomination for Favorite Fast Bites of the Year Monday night. The nomination centered around a delicatessen, quick-serve restaurant, mobile food vendor, or coffee shop (with food menu) that demonstrates a dedication to good food and good service in a fast-casual environment.

And Joseph Cassis of PassionFish Bethesda is nominated for Employee of the Year. The nominee must be a non-managerial front or back of the house employee who serves as a model employee by displaying outstanding service, an excellent work ethic and a positive image.

The folks behind the success of Cava Grill and Cava Mezze are also nominated for Restaurateur of the Year. The candidates must be a working restaurateur or restaurant group who sets high standards in restaurant operations and entrepreneurship. Candidates must have been in the restaurant business for a minimum of 5 years in the Metropolitan Washington area. Those nominated are Ike Grigoropoulos, Dimitri Moshovitis, Ted Xenochristos and Brett Schulman, all with Cava Group, Inc.

The public can vote for this and other categories. Voting is open online through May 31 at 5 p.m.

Restaurants eligible for RAMMY awards are part of RAMW, a regional trade organization representing restaurants and the foodservice industry. Winners will be announced July 30 at a black tie gala.
