2026 Primary: Who's Running For Bethesda-Chevy Chase
With submissions closed, Patch has compiled a list of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase contenders vying for a county seat in the June primary.
BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE, MD — With the filing deadline passed, the list of contenders vying for a county seat in the June primary election has been cemented.
In total, 17 Democrats are running for four at-large seats on the Montgomery County Council. Another seven candidates — five Democrats and two Republicans — are stepping up to take a stab at the county executive seat.
In the county's 1st and 4th Districts, which encompass the Bethesda-Chevy Chase regions, a total of seven candidates are up at bat for a council seat.

When it comes to the Montgomery County Board of Education, five candidates are looking to serve in an at-large posting. Just one contender — Grace Rivera-Oven — is registered for a 1st District board candidacy.

Mail-In Ballots
- To receive mail-in ballots by mail or fax, file a request by June 16.
- To receive mail-in ballots online, file by June 19.
- To receive mail-in ballots in person, request at your local board. Ballots must be postmarked by 8 p.m. on June 23 to meet the submission deadline.
