2nd Annual AAHP Community Day in Downtown Silver Spring

FREE health resource fair featuring 30+ exhibitors, screenings, information booths, fitness activities, and motivational speakers.

Please join us on Saturday, April 18 at the Silver Spring Civic Center for the 2nd Annual AAHP Community Day! In honor of National Minority Health Month, this FREE event will inform, educate, and empower African Americans and people of African descent to address health issues impacting their lives, their families, and their communities through the following activities:

  • Interactive Health Fair and Information Booths
  • Onsite Health Screening (blood pressure, HIV testing, diabetes, cholesterol, vision, BMI)
  • Live Cooking Demonstrations
  • Energizing Group Fitness Activities
  • Men’s 5K Wellness Walk
  • Motivational Guest Speakers

Kick off AAHP Community Day with our Men’s 5K Wellness Walk and join men and boys of all ages to take steps toward better health. Registration begins at 7:00 AM and the walk starts at 8:00 AM at the Silver Spring Civic Center.

Join Micheline Bowman, News Coordinator for WTTG Fox 5 News, at 9:00 AM for our interactive health fair featuring expert presenters and informative exhibits.

Opening keynote remarks will be porvided by Captain Elijah K. Martin, Jr., Minority Health Consultant, U.S. Office of Minority Health, Region III followed by a town hall discussion on the state of Black health in Montgomery County with:
