3 Teens Charged In Robbery Of Bethesda Smoke Shop

The three teenagers were charged with robbery after police said they stole items and assaulted an employee at the Bethesda store.

BETHESDA, MD — Three teenagers are facing charges after police said they robbed a Bethesda smoke shop and assaulted an employee before leaving.

According to Montgomery County police, the robbery happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 22 at the Tobacco and More Mart located in the 7800 block of Old Georgetown Road.

Police said a 14-year-old, 15-year-old and 16-year-old entered the store, took items and attempted to flee. When an employee tried to intervene, police said the 16-year-old struck the victim in the head. The teens then left the store with the stolen property.

Shortly after the robbery, authorities located the teens and arrested them. Police did not release their names due to their ages.

All three teens were charged with robbery and released to their caregivers, police said.
