95 COVID Cases Added Overnight In Montgomery; Total Hits 23,696

BETHESDA, MD — The Maryland Health Department on Monday reported 95 new COVID-19 cases and zero new deaths in Montgomery County, bringing the total number of cases to 23,696 and the local death toll to 815.

Another 40, health officials believe, had COVID-19 but died before ever getting tested. "Probable deaths" aren't included in the official fatality count until they are confirmed by a laboratory test.

Montgomery County — Maryland's most populous jurisdiction — has the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 30,762, according to the latest figures.

Across Maryland, there have been 131,861 cases, 3,859 confirmed deaths, and 144 "probable deaths." Of the 384 people that are currently hospitalized, 93 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
