Advertisements Coming to Bethesda Parking Garages

The ads are part of a Montgomery County pilot program.

What's all over your Facebook page, your favorite news websites, and—very soon—a parking garage near you?

Advertisements.

The county is launching a six-month pilot project this month to test display ads in four county-run garages in Bethesda and Silver Spring.

In Bethesda, the garages are the Bethesda Row garage on Bethesda Avenue and the Woodmont Corner garage on Woodmont Avenue. In Silver Spring, the ads will appear in the Town Square garage on Ellsworth Drive and the Cameron-Second Street garage on Cameron Street, according to an email newsletter from the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center.

"The pilot project will help the Division of Parking Management evaluate business demand for the ads, revenue potential for the county, types and sizes of display ads that are attractive to businesses and ways to ensure that garage signage continues to be clear and visible," the newsletter said.
