BETHESDA, MD — The Bethesda Row Arts Festival returns for its 23rd year this weekend, showcasing 129 artists. They'll have artwork on display using all sorts of media, including ceramics, photography, painting, jewelry and sculpture.

A panel of local artists will select winners in each category, as well as an overall Best in Show winner. This year the jurors include Amanda Coelho, a local graphic designer; Michael Janis, co-director at the Washington School; and Jenny Walton, who has worked in watercolor, metalpoint drawing, and printmaking.

The festival will be set up on the street near the intersection of Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda, just two blocks from the metro station. Drivers can park in the public garage in the middle of the festival, which you can get into from Bethesda Avenue via Arlington Road. Bikers on the C&O trail pass right by the festival, and the organizers say there is plenty of bike parking.
