Candlelight Vigil Caps Weekend Search for Missing Siblings

Toddlers Sarah and Jacob Hoggle of Montgomery County have been missing for two weeks.

Searchers continued without success over the weekend to locate missing Montgomery County toddlers Sarah and Jacob Hoggle.

Supporters of the family said on a GoFundMe page set up to accept donations to pay for search expenses that corporate donors are offering a $10,000 reward in the case. Donations to the search fund totaled $2,742 Monday afternoon.

The Facebook page FindJacobAndSarah thanked volunteers who turned out over the weekend to look for the children, missing for two weeks since their mother, Catherine Hoggle, left home with the youngsters on Sept. 8.

For two weeks, Montgomery County Police search teams have scoured over 13,000 acres, primarily in Clarksburg and Darnestown, looking for the children, the media outlet says.

Police say they are building a homicide case against the children’s mother. Hoggle she was arrested in Germantown on Sept. 12 and has been charged with detaining a child in the state, child neglect and obstructing and hindering.

The children’s father, Troy Turner, and extended family don’t know where the youngsters are; Hoggle refuses to tell family or police where she left the children.

Family members have said Hoggle is a paranoid schizophrenic who stopped taking her medication.

Turner, who said last week he believes his children are still alive, led searchers into wooded areas in Upcounty over the weekend. Montgomery Community Media reports Turner is also reviewing surveillance video of area businesses hoping to find signs of his children. No leads have turned up after two weeks of searching.

“It’s all about trying to find information to lead us to them,” he told MyMCMedia Friday.
