Chef Eduardo Harth Returns to Grapeseed
Eduardo Harth is in as Chef de Cuisine at Grapeseed in Bethesda.

(Bethesda, Maryland – September 25, 2014) Eduardo Harth is in as Chef de Cuisine at Grapeseed in Bethesda. Harth a native to Montgomery County returns to his roots after eight years as a restaurateur and chef in San Salvador where he owned and operated one of the country’s most recognized fine-dining restaurants, Citron, before heading back to the states with his family in tow when the political climate and his own safety were in peril. With nothing but fond memories of his time as a line cook and then sous chef at Grapeseed over a decade ago, Harth immediately reached out to Grapeseed’s owner and executive chef Jeff Heineman for a position back in a kitchen where he was familiar and comfortable. Heineman knowing when a good thing hits him jumped at the opportunity and welcomed Harth back with open arms.
The son of a World Bank executive, Harth attended the infamous Sidwell Friends School before following his urge to cook and enrolled at L’Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda where he was trained in French cooking techniques. After graduating Harth accepted an externship at DC Central Kitchen. He then went on to gather many life lessons and a wealth of culinary knowledge working at Bistro Lepic, Café Deluxe, The Cumis Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain and Marvelous Market in addition to his time at Grapeseed where he bonded with Chef Heineman on a level that transcends itself to the plate when the two collaborate behind the line. Harth brings with him to the kitchen a passion for Latin cuisine and classic cooking traditions.
Harth’s addition to the team at Grapeseed allows Heineman the opportunity to reinvigorate his brand, now in its 14th year on Cordell Avenue in downtown Bethesda, and focus on further expanding his new bar program and steakhouse menu.
