The EGATE Award honors elementary, middle and high schools that offer gifted and talented programs aligned with the objectives and criteria of the Maryland Criteria For Excellence: Gifted and Talented Program Guidelines and Code of Maryland Regulations.

"I was very interested in seeing what an EGATE school looks like, so when I came here I was thrilled to see every child engaged," said Laurie Halverson, a member of the Maryland Board of Education. "I got the feeling of a family here. The teachers all seem to be working together to make sure every child succeeds."
