Deck Fire Displaces 3 People, Racks Up $750K In Damage
A fire that broke out at a Chevy Chase home displaced three adults and caused $750,000 in damages.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — Three people were displaced from a two-story home in Chevy Chase late Tuesday after a fire broke out on a rear exterior deck and moved into the house.
Pete Piringer, of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said the house fire occurred on the 4600 block of Drummond Ave., just off Wisconsin Ave. First responders were called to the scene around 11:15 p.m.
None of the home's occupants suffered any injuries, as they were all alerted by the smoke alarms. A cause for the fire has not been determined by investigators.

Authorities said the blaze amounted to $750,000 in damage, of which $500,000 was due to structural damage and the remaining $250,000 for the home's contents.
An investigation is ongoing.
