The name Mata Hari has been linked with espionage, sex and intrigue for almost a century. She is purported to have been a German spy who caused the deaths of thousands of French soldiers in World War I. She was indeed a very well known personality in her time and knew several languages and did extensive traveling in very high style. But was she as evil as the stories about her imply?
