Firefighter Brings Birthday Joy To Kids During Coronavirus Crisis

Here's how one Cabin John Park firefighter is helping kids celebrate their birthdays during the coronavirus pandemic.

BETHESDA, MD — Birthdays are tough during a global pandemic, especially for children who are too young to fully grasp what's going on.

But despite stay-at-home orders and widespread shutdowns, one firefighter has found a way to help neighborhood kids celebrate their special day.

In Montgomery County, Cabin John Park Volunteer firefighter Scott Stone can be seen pulling up to kids' driveways in a 1930 Brockway fire engine as neighbors sing "Happy Birthday."

"It kind of feels great to have this kind of birthday," Cookler said. "I never had this before in my life, yet. It's kind of exciting."

Stone says it's all about bringing smiles to kids' faces during these difficult times.

"I can't describe how I feel because it's over the top," Stone told FOX 5 DC. "Just as we approach to see all the faces, to see the kids, the smiles — and the stories I'm hearing from the parents that this is probably the birthday party ... (they) will remember forever."
