Ice Cream Shop Holds Grand Opening This Weekend

Sarah's Handmade Ice Cream and Treats is opening its new location in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase region this weekend.

BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE, MD — A new ice cream shop is opening this weekend in Chevy Chase, just in time for the round of 70-degree weather headed to the region.

The grand opening for Sarah's Handmade Ice Cream and Treats, located at 8551 Connecticut Ave., will include a community block party and maker's market celebration that runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The ice cream shop itself will stay open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature a lineup of seasonal, complimentary ice cream flavors, including:

  • Cherry Blossom Festival
  • Lemon Meringue Pie
  • Rose Pistachio
  • Earl Grey Speculoos
  • Luck O’ the Irish
  • Pink Grapefruit Sorbet

"Bring your friends, your family, your sweet tooth! This is one you don’t want to miss," reads a post announcing the opening. "Let’s make this opening unforgettable."

Specials include a buy-one-get-one offer, as well as the chance to buy three pints and get one for free.

The grand opening of the shop, which was founded by mother-daughter duo Sarah and Annie Park, marks the fourth location of the business.

Other bases for the ice cream shop can be found at 5241 River Road and 10219 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. A third shop in Rockville can be found at 14929 Shady Grove Road.

Anyone looking to get their ice cream fix can do so at any of the locations daily, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
