Photos Show Jewelry Thieves Who Drove Car Through Bethesda Storefront: Update

Police released photos of men who drove a stolen Mercedes through the front of a Bethesda jewelry store and robbed the business.

UPDATED at 3:15 p.m. BETHESDA, MD — A stolen car deliberately slammed into the front of The Jewelry Exchange in Bethesda Tuesday morning to give robbers access to display cases in the store.

Montgomery County Police were called just before 2:30 a.m. to the jewelry store in the 7700 block of Old Georgetown Road. Officers arrived at the business to find a Mercedes Benz E350 had been backed through the front glass window of the business and was left running inside the store. Thieves broke out the glass in two of the display cases, took some of the merchandise, and fled.

Investigators say the Mercedes was recently stolen from Prince George’s County.
