Lanes to Shift Overnight on Cedar Lane in Bethesda
The change is part of a larger project schedule for completion in 2016.

Overnight work planned for Wednesday night on Cedar Lane east of Rockville Pike in Bethesda will close some traffic lanes, state highway officials warn.
To prepare for upcoming construction of a hiker/biker trail while simultaneously maintaining bicycle, pedestrian and vehicular traffic (weather permitting), crews will shift traffic lanes and apply new pavement markings on westbound Cedar Lane from Elmhirst Parkway to MD 355. The work is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, according to highway officials.
Once the overnight lane shifts and pavement marking work on Cedar Lane are complete, the current traffic pattern of one through lane on westbound Cedar Lane from Elmhirst Parkway to MD 355 will be replaced with a new traffic pattern of two through lanes on westbound MD 355 from Elmhirst Parkway to MD 355.

Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be maintained during all phases of construction, however; these sidewalk and road users may be directed to the safest crossings inside the work zone including those on the opposite side of the street until the project is complete.
