Local Pop-Up Offers Dorm Room Designing For College Students

Once you designed the dorm room of your dreams at this Bethesda pop-up, Dormify will ship your picks straight to your door.

BETHESDA, MD — Dormify, the one-stop-shop for small space decorating, is holding a floor sample sale at their first ever pop-up, or “Style Studio,” for customers to experience their products and styling first hand.

This Style Studio is in Bethesda, which is the hometown of Dormify’s co-founder and 2018 Forbes 30 under 30 recipient, Amanda Zuckerman.

The floor sample sale will go from Aug. 20-26, before the pop-up closes on Aug. 27. Currently, the pop-up is open seven days a week.

Available by appointment or walk-in, Dormify stylists (current college students or recent grads) will be available to give advice and help style your dorm or apartment in a real world setting. They will use actual beds, desks and walls during your visit so you know you’re getting the perfect look.

Once you have designed the room of your dreams, you can work with Dormify to ship your picks straight to your door.

To add to the fun experience, there is also an Instagrammable moment, or “viral wall,” designed by a student who’s winning design was selected.

"Starting college and designing your first home away from home is a pivotal moment in a teen’s life, and Dormify wants to offer this offline experience in order to be there in that moment," the company states.

The pop-up can be found at 7101 Democracy Blvd. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
