'Neighbor From Hell' To Spend Time In Jail: Court

The Silver Spring man reportedly knocked down neighbors' fences and blocked driveways, then disobeyed a judge's order.

The Silver Spring man described by prosecutors as the “neighbor from hell” for knocking down neighbors’ fences and reportedly pouring motor oil into a pool will spend time in jail.

Last year, Socrates Kondilis was convicted of harassing his neighbor, George Buckland, reports WTOP. Buckland’s attorney says Kondilis was caught on security cameras knocking down his neighbors’ fences and blocking their driveways. Buckland also accused Kondilis of pouring motor oil into his pool.

A judge ordered Kondilis to attend anger management classes, but he lied about taking them. That added perjury and obstruction of justice charges to his rap sheet.

On Friday, a judge sentenced Kondilis to five years in prison, but suspended all but eight months, to be served in jail. That will be followed by three years probation.

Kondilis has pending charges from other neighbors, including destruction of property, court records indicate.
