Gourmet Butcher Shop To Expand on Bethesda Avenue: Report

The owners of Butchers Alley are widening their menu with new meats and cheeses.

The owners of Butchers Alley, a gourmet food store on Bethesda Avenue, plan to expand the store into space next door, according to a media report.

The space was previously occupied by the Bethesda Water Store, which closed its doors in August, Bethesda Magazine reported. Butchers Alley opened its doors in January.

Butchers Alley will be connected with the new space, which will be converted into a high-end cheese shop. it will offer artisan cheeses and charcuterie, a French term for smoked or cooked meats.

Butchers Alley also will expand its deli and fresh meat offerings, according to a spokeswoman for the store's owners. The same ownership team also operates Pescadeli, a seafood market in the same block, on the other side of Bethesda Avenue.
