Health baby boy delivered just after midnight en route to Holy Cross Hospital, according to Montgomery County Police.
An officer helped deliver a baby on the side of the road in the overnight hours early Thursday, according to Montgomery County Police.
Shortly after midnight, Officer Dan Campbell helped deliver the healthy baby boy in the parents’ car at Georgia Avenue and Dennis Avenue, according to the MCPD Twitter feed.
Campbell saw the speeding car and was going to stop the driver when he saw the man pointing to his wife in the passenger seat saying “baby, baby.”

The couple then followed Campbell’s police cruiser with lights flashing en route to Holy Cross Hospital, but had to stop short.
The baby was crowning a couple blocks away from the hospital, so Campbell delivered his first baby.

“Mom did the work. She did a great job. It got the heart pumping a little bit,”Campbell told WTOP.
Mother Hilda Aguilar told NBC Washington, “I felt a range of emotions, but above all, I was thinking of the baby.”
She said if they didn’t already have a name selected, Daniel would have been a great baby name.
The department noted that the child was born on Bring Your Child To Work Day.
Congrats to the new parents!
