Potomac Woman Riding E-Bike Killed In Rehoboth Beach Crash: State Police

A 66-year-old woman from Potomac was killed while riding an electric bike along a stretch of Delaware's Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A 66-year-old woman from Potomac was killed Saturday in a crash that happened in Delaware's Rehoboth Beach.

Delaware State Police said the incident took place around 11:30 a.m., when the woman, who was riding an electric bike, left the designated bike lane on the southbound lanes of the Coastal Highway for unknown reasons.

When the Potomac resident crossed over the bike lane, she collided with a GMC Sierra 2500 truck traveling on the highway's southbound lanes, just north of Savages Ditch Road.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene throughout the investigation. He was identified as a 64-year-old man from Cecil County's Perryville area.
