Meet local artists who fashion clay in so many ways and offer originals in a Kiln Club of Washington seasonal sale
Whether for a spread or the holiday sled, the Kiln Club Autumn Sale offers decorative and functional handmade ceramic giftware and tableware for serving and for those deserving.
On the cusp of Halloween, Thanksgiving and December celebrations, get ahead of the game by leisurely shopping for handmade ceramic treasures. Meet local potters and shop quality one-of-a-kind platters, bowls, cups and from more than a dozen artists.
Functional high-fire pottery distinctive for its vivid glassy glazes on porcelain or stoneware is durable and suitable for microwave, oven and dishwasher use. Stunning silhouettes and handpainted details appeal to the artistic eye and are ready to go from kitchen to table. Pick up dishes in autumn hues from pumpkin to harvest gold to splashy cranberry.
Decorative raku vases and contemporary forms make a stylish centerpiece or hostess gift. Thrown and handbuilt platters can frame a main course, while sculpted and handpainted servers are ideal for sides. Mugs to chug seasonal cider, chocolate and or everyday morning joe offer cozy comfort. Crisp apples look amazing in a handmade bowl while pears appear hand painted on a starter tray. Gift of a one-of-a-kind small plate or dish holds soap, butter, candies, condiments, olives and even keepsakes.
It is time to browse a scary-good selection, a cornucopia of creativity, a feast of fine ceramics before the silly season.
