Students Showcase Their Artwork At New Gallery
High school students are showcasing their artwork at the newly established Patricia B. O'Neill Student Art Gallery.
BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE, MD — The opening of the Patricia B. O’Neill Student Art Gallery was recently marked by a show featuring the works of several students from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
The showcase features over 20 works that range from sculptures to photographs and paintings.
In a release, sophomore Isabella Avena explained that her piece, titled "Till Death," was created to depict "the love that exists even after death."

Some participating students even drew inspiration from the ancient Jōmon techniques, which involve artists building vessels through a coiling and pinching method.
Junior Ayoola Gbadebo used the technique to build a piece that tied back to Mami Wata, a water spirit from African mythology.
