Surveillance Video Of Suspect In Bethesda Thefts Released By Police

BETHESDA, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department released surveillance video of a suspect who the department believes has committed at least three thefts in Bethesda.

The latest theft occurred between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, when the suspect entered an office suite in the 6900 block of Rockledge Drive and stole the victim’s credit cards. The suspect then used the credit cards at an Apple store, according to police.

Montgomery County Police said its detectives reviewed the surveillance footage from the three incidents and determined the same suspect committed all three thefts. The suspect is described as a Black male, with locs or braided hairstyle and an athletic build, police said.

The first in the series of thefts occurred on Wednesday, April 27 at about 4:30 p.m. The suspect entered an office suite in the 4300 block of East West Highway and stole a victim’s credit cards and used them at an Apple store and Safeway, police said.

The next day, on Thursday, April 28, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a victim reported their wallet missing from an office suite in the 6600 block of Rockledge Drive. The police determined that the suspect stole the victim’s credit cards and then used them at an Apple store.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
